Kristu Jayanti Institute of Management, in association with the Tejus Disaster Management and Mitigation Centre, successfully conducted a five-day intensive workshop on Disaster Management, Emergency Operations, and Pre-Mock Exercise Training from April 8 to April 12, 2026. The program witnessed active participation from representatives of key organizations, including the Army, Railway Protection Force, MEG Centre, ISRO, KSISF, and CISF, ensuring a multidisciplinary learning environment. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session, followed by comprehensive deliberations on disaster management frameworks, legal provisions, and institutional response mechanisms. Domain experts delivered insightful sessions on emerging areas such as the application of artificial intelligence in disaster management, early warning systems, and strategies for mass casualty management. Participants also gained significant practical exposure through hospital visits, live equipment demonstrations, and structured mock exercises designed to simulate real-world emergency scenarios. Special focus was placed on preparedness for chemical, biological, and radiological disasters, highlighting the importance of specialized response capabilities. The training methodology incorporated interactive discussions, case-based learning, and real-time simulations to strengthen both conceptual clarity and operational readiness. The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, marking the successful completion of the program and reinforcing the importance of coordinated disaster response. As an outcome, participants developed a thorough understanding of disaster management systems and emergency operations while enhancing their competencies in coordination, decision-making, and crisis response. The workshop effectively equipped them with the necessary skills to manage complex disaster situations using modern tools and interdisciplinary approaches.
