Financial Awareness and Consumer Training

A Financial Awareness and Consumer Training (FACT) programme was successfully organized in association with NSE Academy and the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) on 18th March, 2026 for the students of I and II Year FinTech and International Finance. The sessions were conducted by Ms. Mangaiyarkarasi Manoharan, a distinguished Financial Literacy Educator and Information Systems Auditor with over a decade of experience in banking operations, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and professional training. The programme was structured into two sessions of two hours each, held in the morning and afternoon. The trainer delivered insightful content on the importance of financial planning, emphasizing its relevance in both personal and business contexts. Through real-life case studies drawn from her professional and personal experiences, she effectively demonstrated how informed financial decisions can significantly impact long-term financial stability and growth.A key focus of the training was on managing lending and loans. Students were educated on responsible borrowing practices, understanding interest rates, and the implications of debt management. In addition, the session highlighted the importance of financial safety, covering essential topics such as fraud prevention, digital security, and safe financial practices in an increasingly technology-driven environment. The interactive nature of the sessions encouraged active student participation, enabling them to relate theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. Students expressed their appreciation for the programme, noting that it offered a fresh and practical perspective on saving, borrowing, and investment strategies. Overall, the FACT programme proved to be highly beneficial in enhancing financial literacy among students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to make informed financial decisions in both their personal and professional lives.
