Kristu Jayanti Institute of Management (KJIM) in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised the Campus Farmers’ Market & Student Entrepreneurs’ Stalls, creating a vibrant platform that brought together farmers, local producers, entrepreneurs, and MBA students on 25th September 2026. The initiative aimed to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, local enterprise, and inclusive economic growth, while providing students with an opportunity to translate classroom learning into a meaningful real-world entrepreneurial experience. MBA students actively participated by conceptualising, setting up, and managing commercial stalls featuring a diverse range of products and services, including food products, beverages, snacks, cookies, fruits and vegetables, artworks, and face-painting services. Through the initiative, students gained practical exposure to product presentation, customer engagement, pricing, sales, marketing, business decision-making, and entrepreneurial risk-taking. The event was graced by Fr. Dr. Lijo P. Thomas, Pro Vice Chancellor and Director, Airport Road Campus, who delivered the Presidential Address and encouraged students to embrace innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking.
The programme was further enriched by the presence of distinguished entrepreneurs Mr. Dinesh B, Founder & CEO of Cafe Idly, and Mr. Rajesh Bhaktinathan, Co-founder of Cafe Idly, who shared valuable insights from their entrepreneurial journeys. Their perspectives on innovation, branding, customer engagement, and business development provided students with meaningful industry exposure and inspiration. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of university leadership, faculty members, staff, students, farmers, local producers, and entrepreneurs, making it a dynamic platform for interaction, experiential learning, and community engagement. The Campus Farmers’ Market & Student Entrepreneurs’ Stalls exemplified the University’s commitment to experiential learning and entrepreneurship education transforming ideas into action and classrooms into spaces for innovation and enterprise. A memorable day of learning, selling, networking, and innovation where ideas met action.
